Summary
We are looking to add a Project Coordinator/APM to a contracting entity that provides commercial general contracting services, offering in-house structural capabilities with a full crew of individuals who specialize in tunnel form and conventional shell construction methods. The qualified candidates should have a BS degree in Construction Management or Engineering with 3-8 years of experience with multi-family residential market projects, healthcare facilities, office/warehouse buildings, commercial distribution facilities, parking garages, interior buildouts, interior, and exterior renovations. The candidate will be responsible for managing small projects, contract administration, subcontractor coordination, and customer relations.
Responsibilities
- The Project Coordinator/APM assists the project team leader in planning, execution, delivery, closeout, and the overall success of a specific project(s)
- The Project Coordinator/APM is responsible for assisting in coordinating and managing the construction process from start through close-out
- The Project Coordinator/APM works with the Project Manager to assist with design efforts, solicit and qualify bids, develop contract documents, manage construction documents, expedite materials, ensure quality and help manage the overall construction process
- Play an active role in the pre-construction phase of a project such as participating in design meetings, preparing cost estimates and project schedules, and developing contract documents
- Provide supervisory support to field management by assisting the superintendent to ensure the project is successful
- Evaluate field staff performance for the duration of the project
- Organize and execute the contracting and buyout phase of the project
- Ensure code compliance by monitoring all materials test reports, scheduling 3rd party inspectors, and monitoring permit and inspection notebook
- Maintain quality control by continually inspecting all work, ensuring timely review and approval of shop drawings by architects and engineers, and engaging design consultants for onsite inspections and punch lists
- Manage material control by monitoring material delivery and coordinating placement of materials, rejecting incorrect or defective items and expediting replacement orders, and ensuring that materials are being used where and how intended
- Ensure the safety of the job site and field staff by inspecting site visits, work practices, tools and equipment, fall protection, scaffolds, and safety devices
- Manage administrative duties such as scheduling and hosting a monthly onsite meeting with development to review project status and create weekly schedule updated.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited University in Building / Construction/Construction Management or Engineering
- Procore Certified
- Basic knowledge of construction techniques and understanding of construction trades
- AIC Certification
- RFI/Submittals
- Shell materials experience
- Shell/structural experience
- Basic Project Management skills
- OSHA-10 Hour
