Job Description:
 
As an Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that materials, components, and final products meet all specifications and quality standards. You will be responsible for identifying defects, ensuring weld quality, verifying dimensions, and providing thorough quality analysis. You will also collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to address quality issues, improve processes, and maintain documentation for quality assurance and production control.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Inspect materials, components, and finished products for defects and ensure compliance with dimensional, welding, and other specification requirements.
  • Interpret and apply customer specifications and documentation to ensure project alignment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform self-quality control inspections, focusing on weld preparations, fit-up, final welds, and dimensional accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records for in-process and final inspections.
  • Collaborate with shop personnel and vendors to clarify drawings and specifications.
  • Follow company safety policies and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Use tools such as CMM, 4D comparators, calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges for dimensional inspections.
  • Prepare and sign FAA 8130 and EASA documents for components returned to service using Corridor software.
  • Participate in final inspections prior to shipping and ensure all outgoing materials meet required standards.
  • Proactively suggest improvements to the Quality Control process.
  • Assist in resolving non-conforming product issues and liaise between production and quality assurance.
Requirements:
  • Experience with FAA regulations and Corridor software preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools for dimensional inspection (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
  • Strong understanding of quality control procedures and standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Standing and walking on cement floors for extended periods.
