Background
Our client, a premium fresh Consumer Products Company, has engaged us to find their next Warehouse Assistant. This distributor of premium fresh products provides you with an excellent opportunity to expand your career.
As a Warehouse Assistant, you will operate powered industrial forklifts to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into storage facilities. The Order Picker is responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the delivery platform in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity. The Order Picker is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Assist Warehouse manager with additional duties
Back up for Warehouse Manager when needed
Obtains copy of working schedule or shipping order and transports material or products to and from designated areas in the facility.
Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks or containers.
Move inventory and materials across facilities
Process inventory for delivery
Sort, organize and store inventory in the proper location
Scan delivered items and ensure quality
Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors
Stack and organize large bulk items
Remove inventory from trucks or shipping and delivery to proper location
Update logs and documentation for inventory processing
Move materials from facilities to workstations, pick-up locations, or other locations
Wear safety gear at all times
Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to move or store inventory
Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles
Work as an active team member to complete team goals
Prepare documentation and inventory for audits Repacking
Repack and weigh any orders that require such handling when necessary.
Report quality variances.
Administrative, Safety, Security
Maintain equipment and report malfunctions
Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
Assist other warehouse duties as needed
Qualification requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be
required
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a
safe work environment
Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
Maintain a clean & safe environment
May be required to use RF scanner gun
Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may
be required
Forklift certification per OSHA standards
Physical demands and abilities
Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck / forklift.
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop,
stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
Having a good sense of balance
Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
Education:
High school or equivalent
